Stolz und frei sollst Du fliegen
Mit Feuerschwingen durch die Nacht
Ganz ohne Fesseln, ohne Ketten
Empor zur kalten Sternenpracht
Niemals wird es Grenzen für Dich geben
Mit Freude wird Dein Herz erfüllt
So stolz und hoch erhobenen Hauptes
In Mondes Silberlicht gehüllt
Mit Sehnsucht ist Dein Herz erfüllt
Und niemals wünschtest Du Dir mehr
Als daß Du nur für einen Tag
Wie jener Drache wärst
Du glaubst und Du erkennst es nicht
Und Zweifel nagt an Dir
Du siehst nicht dieses lodernd Licht
Das leuchtet tief in Dir
Doch ich kann's sehen und ich weiß
Würd' ich dies Licht berühren
Ganz deutlich könnte meine Hand
Die Feuerschwingen spüren

Without restraints, without chains
upwards to cold star splendor
Never will limits give for you
With joy your hearts will be fulfilled
So proud and high heads
In moon silver light shrouded
With longing is fulfilles your heart
And you never wish more
As that you just for a day
to be that dragon
You believe and you not realize it
And doubts nagging to you
You do not see this blazing light
That shines deep inside of you
But I can see it and I know
Will I get this light touch
Quite clearly my hand could
feel the fire wings
Because never in my long journey
I met someone
Where like you with all your heart
A proud dragon is
